Sour

So today's color for the Pantone color challenge is kind of appropriate in Minnesota today.  The color is Lemon Zest and let me tell you, the weather sure is sour and getting more sour by the minute.  We're under a winter storm warning.  ON MAY 1ST!!!  Go home Mother Nature, you're drunk.  This is just ridiculous.  Anyway, no fun spring skirts or dresses today.  I will admit, I did stop at the thrift store on the way home last night just to see if I could find a lemon colored sweater and I did.  It was only $4.00 so I don't think it'll break my bank AND it'll match plenty of other things in my closet, so I don't feel bad about breaking my shopping ban just a hair.

Sweater - Talbots, thrifted
T-shirt - Herbergers
Pants - Express, consignment
Necklace/bracelets - S&D

This isn't the first time I remember there being snow in May.  My senior year of high school we had 90 degree weather the first weekend of May for our prom and then the following weekend we went on a senior band trip to Northern Minnesota and it was 30 and snowing.  There are just no guarantees in Minnesota and yet, I do choose to live here!

Today we're adding our links to Marissa's blog, The Modern Austen, so make sure to head over there and check out the other Pantone challenge participants.  And then send me some sunshine darn it!

  8. I remember living in Chicago and we'd sometimes get snow in May. Weird weather is all part of living in the Midwest!

  9. Oh Bethie! I feel sorry for you and that dang weather. I laughed so hard at your "Go home Mother Nature, you're drunk!" When my HM and I are trying to point out to the other that what he or I have said is goofy, we say "Oh, you're DRUNK!" and the funny thing is we neither one drink. hahahaha. And Kudos on the Lemon sweater thrift purchase!!!!

  14. Argyle, yellow, and wide leg trousers? Yes, please. OMG I am so sorry to hear about the snow. I'm sweatin' it out in the 80s. Going North is sounding more and more suspect to me.
