Weekend stuffs

Good morning friends!  Happy Monday!  Did you all have nice weekends?  Thanks so much to those who left such sweet comments on my post on Friday.  I'm adjusting to my new normal and it's not so bad so far. The worst has been missing my morning orange juice and not splurging on my weekend latte, but that's been about the hardest thing!  The positive things?  Sugar free butterscotch pudding is really tasty and Crystal Light makes a margarita flavored drink mix.  I think I can rock this thing ok!

Lots of baby stuff this weekend, we took our childbirth preparation class.  Nothing makes this entire thing more real than that, let me tell you.  It was pretty awesome though - the Pants Monkey's aunt is a childbirth educator and ended up being the one teaching the class.  You might think that would be awkward for us, but actually it was really nice.  She's unbelievably awesome and makes you feel so at ease.  We learned a lot and had some great conversations about what we want when the time comes.  I'm glad we did it as early as we did so we have plenty of time to plan.

Shirt - Motherhood Maternity, consignment
Pants - Simply Vera, Kohls
Shoes - Rampage, DSW
Necklace - Vintage Pearl, gift from a friend

Sunday we slept in, then I met up with Lori and we swung into Amanda's fantastic Tandem Vintage sale. Sad panda, she had so many pretty plaid skirts that I'd love to wear this fall, but there is no way the bump will fit at this point!  That's ok though, I found some fun kitty cat earrings and a rather ridiculous cat wall hanging that I'm going to put up with another cat picture a dear friend gave me. Crazy cat lady FTW!  After the sale we went to Target so Lori could help me pick out makeup.  I definitely have some better ideas of what to do with my face now!

I headed home, had a wonderful dinner out on the deck with my Pants Monkey and then settled in to watch the Emmys - what a GIANT disappointment!  I had a mild panic attack because our TV was acting up and we don't have cable so I was worried I wasn't going to be able to watch - yeah, I don't know that it would have been the end of the world to miss this year's show.  It felt like everyone was rushing, struggling to read the teleprompter, the "In Memoriam" spotlights seemed like a good idea but were poorly executed.  And I adore Modern Family, Breaking Bad and Jim Parsons - but at the same time, spread the love a bit on the winners.  I didn't find anyone's dress all that stunning besides maybe Claire Danes - she's always a class act though, that wasn't much of a surprise.  But the show overall was just yuck.  Anyone else watch?  What did you think?

  1. Even though it happened a week earlier, I was thrilled to see my favorite comedian of all time, Bob Newhart, win his first Emmy. He got it for his funny guest-appearance on "The Big Bang Theory." I agree with what you say about the show.

    1. The standing ovation he received when he came out to present with Jim Parsons was SO well deserved - I can't believe it took until now for him to win an Emmy. He's a comedy genius.

  2. Glad that you had a great weekend! I know that you can totaly do this and you will rock with having GD (not that it's something you want, but hopefully you know what I mean). I agree with you on the Emmy's, it was just really bad this year. I was expecting more with NPH hosting and was let down. I stopped watching half-way through because I just couldn't!

  3. I didn't watch the Emmy's but read all over the interwebs that it was just blah. But hey, at least you had a lovely weekend!!!

  4. Glad to hear you had a good weekend and are adjusting to your new normal. Margarita flavored water? That sounds pretty good. I didn't watch the Emmy's but saw the dresses this morning. The majority of them were UGLY! I agree, Claire Daines was pretty in her dress.

  6. Is it wrong that I did enjoy the choreographers dance routine montage? Other than that.... Wasn't blown away.

  8. I'm glad to hear your adjusting! I thought the Emmy's were a total snoozefest. Watching the red carpet coverage was so much better than the actual show.

  11. I forgot the Emmy's was on and then stubble upon the recap and from what others have said I am glad I didn't park myself in front of the TV for that time span. I loved Zooey's dress. I thought it was perfect. I love Jim Parsons and I am so glad he continues to win. For years, dear Alec Baldwin would win and he drove me crazy. Parson's is far more talented in his role that Baldwin was in his. (opinion). I am loving this outfit on you. I swear, where is your baby? You hardly show. I am not kidding! ♥

  13. I couldn't really comment this weekend because we were busy buying a house, but I read the post and wanted to say: "it's not you. I know a nutritionist who had gestational diabetes. She is healthy, her daughter is healthy, and at no point was she NOT healthy. You are doing everything 100% right!"

But onto today's post: you should definitely keep us updated at the makeup process. I"m in a make up rut!

  14. You look great once again. Tops like that are perfect for pregnant bellies. I didn't watch the Emmys this year. They get too boring for me. I saw the fashions online and was underwhelmed. I love Modern Family & Breaking Bad too but spreading the love like you said. Dexter should have totally won some awards, too.
