Snow and tell

I decided to take my pictures outside in the frigid air this morning to show off our snow here in Minnesota.  I don't know that I want to make it a habit though!  It was darn cold out this morning!!

Teal sweater - thrifted Target stock
White t-shirt - St. John's Bay, JCPenney
Pants - Anthropologie, thrifted
Shoes - Etienne Aigner, thrifted
Necklace - S&D

Every year, even here in Minnesota, we go through a learning curve of how to drive in winter weather again. And usually it's not that bad, but last year was like Winter Lite, so I have noticed over the last day or so the drivers are acting exceptionally bad.  If we don't get our act together pretty soon, it could be a looooong winter!

It doesn't help that it got so cold after it snowed, there is pure ice on some of the roads and it doesn't look like our plows and ice trucks have done much to fix that issue.  Hopefully it will get better soon, in the meantime I have to pack a lot of patience when I get in the car to drive to work in the morning (and I even have a short commute!)

Complaining aside, it is nice to have a pretty fresh blanket of snow.  As I've been saying, I'm a traditionalist and I love the idea of having a White Christmas this year.  And it can linger a bit after Christmas too, but come January?  Yeah, all bets are off by then!

  1. This is why I am oh so glad I take the bus every day. It is really lovely not to have to dirve in this, or get stressed out with others who CAN'T drive in this! It is so pretty isn't it? And, high five to you for going out there without a coat! :) Have a great day, Beth! xoxo

  2. The snowy branches make a beautiful backdrop for your fashion-shoot. You get extra-points for braving the cold.

People in cold places like MN drive much better in the snow than motorists here.

  3. Your sweater is so cute. And I'm glad not to drive in snow. But I'd love to have a snowstorm here this winter. Our last one was in '93.

  4. This outfit looks great and I especially love the teal sweater! :) Stay safe out there with all that snow! We still haven't gotten any, but I can't say I'm upset about that.

  9. Isn't it unbelievable how people act in this weather?! I actually noticed most were under control yesterday morning, but last night the commute home was awful. People were driving on the shoulder to exit and I was so confused?!?! Traffic is always stop and go at that time regardless of the roads and they just made it worse for people trying to merge on!

And this morning there were cars spun out in EP and people with big cars were on my butt! Sorry guys my little car doesn't get going as fast on this stuff.

On the upside, you look super cute :) and I hope that even though its cold the sun might be powerful enough to melt the remaining ice chunks on the highways!

  10. You look cute! I love brown and blue together lately. I am sorry you are so cold, haha, I WANT snow here! It barely snowed last year, it was so gross out.

Yeah people in Michigan forget how to drive as well. You basically have to leave a good 20-30 minutes earlier than normal to get anywhere on time.

  11. Ugh people can barely drive here in the rain, let alone the snow! I am hoping the rest of our winter is snow free, I hate it!

  19. Brrbrrbrr! Looks cold out there. Agreeing with everyone else, kudos for braving the snow. Your feeties look cold. I'll be happy if our ground stays snow free for a while longer. At least no ice would be good. We're just not prepared for the snow here in the South. A dusting causes everyone to go crazy.

  24. I hear that Minnesota battles Ottawa, Canada for cold winters and it looks like you have more snow than us! I was driving the car tonight and kept wondering what the crunchy noise under my tires was until I realized it was the snow! I really like the colour combination you have, that bright blue is fab!

  25. Love your layering. :) So cute and cozy. :) And girl you ought to see us Southerners try to drive in two inches of snow! :) Three inches and the entire city shuts down. :) You would laugh at us. :) Stay safe! (And warm.)
