Bird is the word

Thanks to all for their kind words on my rant post yesterday.  I appreciate it more than you can know! Moving on, color week continues!  I have yet to wear something neutral this week!  Today I decided to pull out my fun bird shirt again, this just might be my new favorite thing ever.  I am such a sucker for birds!

Nothing like some fun bright colors to brighten up a gray, rainy day.  But hey, at least it's not snow!  And April showers bring May flowers right?

Speaking of birds, there is a very persistent robin attempting to build her nest in the light fixture by my parents back door.  This has always been a problem for them, but in the past a paper bag would do the trick to keep the birds away.  This year they got a slightly different light fixture and the smart birds have managed to knock the bag down.  When I went to see Ollie at lunch yesterday there was a ton of stuff in the light. My mom knocked it all down. When I picked him up at the end of the day, there was a ton more again.  So, it sounds like now they're going to try a balloon.  I feel for that mama bird, but she'd be pretty unhappy I think if she did get her nest built and eggs laid right there - lots of activity in and out of that door!

  5. We had a robin build a nest in the slats of our porch roof. The babies have been unfortunately laid and hatched and their little beaks are peep peeping over the edges of the nest. We usually use plastic bags on the porch, but this year they too were persistent and got away with it.

No grackles in the mailbox tho!
