Weather and beer

The heat wave has broken.  Finally.  I stepped outside this morning to go for my walk and was thrilled to be greeted by fresher, cleaner feeling air.  No more humidity.  I know it's not going to last long, summer is far from over, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

I wasn't planning to add this little sweater to my outfit today in fact, but it was cool enough that I grabbed it at the last minute!  Also, this skirt was heading for the discard pile, but then I realized, this shirt would look really nice with it.  And then I saw some other things in my closet and I decided ok, maybe I'm not done with it after all!  The reason I was considering sending it on is that it's a frustrating material and can get wrinkled really easily.  That's what irons are for right?

As you all know, or at least I think you all know, Mr. Monkey and myself are beer enthusiasts.  And one of our favorite local breweries released their annual anniversary beer this week and it's super difficult to get your hands on it as it sells out rather quickly.  But my awesome Pants Monkey knew where to go to get the goods and got his hands on four bottles of it!  I'm pretty excited, we're going to crack one open tomorrow night and  then we'll age the rest of them to enjoy later.  Some people have wine cellars, we have a beer cellar!  Not to say we don't love wine too, we just collect beer.  I'll take a picture of our beer cellar sometime to share.  It' fun.

Beyond that, I have not too much to share at the moment!  Life is just status quo and that is ok with me!  Fun post right - weather and beer.  What else do you need?

Outfit rundown:
Gingham top - Salvaged Strawberry/Band of Thrifters
Sweater - Maurices
Skirt - Ann Taylor (thrifted)
Necklace - DIY by me
Bracelet - Stella and Dot
Sandals - Italian Shoe Company

  1. I think the humidity might have broke this morning here too. All I know is it was REALLY BAD last night. Even I was sweating. And I never sweat.

Have you ever tried the Fitger's beer up here?

    1. YES! We love Fitgers! We stayed there once a couple of years ago. I guess we're getting a branch downtown here, I don't know, I like that it's a destination right now, it might not be as special when it comes down here. But long story short, I love the Fitgers beer. :)

  2. I like this summer outfit. Your top is very cute and looks very nice with your skirt. I can relate with the wrinkles issue. I'm sure you noticed all the wrinkles on my blouse, from my last post. So frustrating! The things we have to deal with in order to look beautiful :)

  3. I LOVE that skirt! Don't ever ever even think of discarding it! It's lovely! The heat wave remains here in IL, and I really wish it would just break, but that's me being optimistic (very rare!)

  4. This is one of my favourite outfits of yours! Love the skirt, and the sweater adds a high proportionate section that helps balance the fullness of the skirt.

You would enjoy some of the craft breweries we have up here!

  6. I am SO happy that the heat finally broke. The humidity was way too much... even last night after it rained it felt even more humid.

ANYWAY, I am so happy to meet you! I'm not technically a MN blogger but I live in River Falls so close enough in my book!

  7. I'm glad it's cooled off by you! It was cool here on the weekend and now it's back to the 90s :( Your floral print skirt is so pretty!

I'd love to see a photo of your beer "cellar" :)

  9. Hello Bethie! I do love this gingham top! I'd really like a gingham dress in this colour- I've always fancied a Dorothy dress! You look very nice in it! The beer cellar sounds interesting, I'd like to see!x

  10. Aw, glad you rescued the skirt. I think it'll go with more than you think. Don't let the wrinkles bother you. I know I'll probably always wind up wrinkly after sitting down for ten minutes, so just embrace them!

Congrats on snagging some of the beer. I'm not a beer or a wine person. I'm happy to say my worst vice is shoes. Really expensive shoes. (Ugh)

  11. Oh man, I had the opposite weather today: all humidity- we were in a huge fog cloud this morning! I went to walk Lucy and came back with my hair wet! Hope your nice weather continues! Ours has cleared up and is lovely! Let me know if you want beer suggestions, I'm sure my HH could come up with a few you might like!

  13. Aw, I wish our humidity would let up for a minute or two! Good weather and beer is definitely a winning combo :) You look so cute! Enjoy your weekend.

  14. I like the natural necklace and cute cardi together. I don't think I ever iron those kinda skirts. I twist them up after washing and let them dry crinkly. Then let everyone think they came that way :P

Props to owning a beer cellar. You are my new hero!
