I feel very Betty Draper of Mad Men in this dress for some reason. I think it's the silhouette of it, it's like give me some crinoline and some pearls and I'd be there. I doubt Betty would wear a print that is quite this wild however!!
This dress is from eShakti. I've been wanting to try something from them for awhile after seeing many of their dresses around the blogosphere. I poured over their many, MANY choices and with a little input from the Pants Monkey, chose this one. I had hoped it would come in time for our anniversary dinner, but because I chose their custom design option, it took a little longer to come. It was worth it. The fit of this thing is incredible. I love that they let you custom size a dress. For someone like me - little up top and bigger down low, it's really a great option. And I have to say, it's exact! But not so exact that it isn't forgiving, the material moves and breathes very well!
I adore the print of this too, it's a bit more "wild" than what I usually wear, but it's fun. If you get up close, you can see birdies. I love birds! So I guess it's kind of exotic. Yeah, the more I think about it, it's definitely not Betty Draper! Maybe Joan? Ha!
I'm really happy to have this for summer, even if I don't have anymore special occasions coming up, work is as good as anything else right?
