June Favorite Looks

If you follow me on Instagram (and if you aren't you should! @BethieTheBoo) you may have noticed that I have done a couple of style challenges this month.  I love following along with these, especially ones that are a little more general, because they help provide me inspiration to help with mixing my closet a little better.  One of the challenges I did was a Dress Week Challenge and the other was a cute one that was themed after Rolling Stones songs - Rad Moves Like Jagger.  I thought I'd share some of my favorites from the month today.

Dress - Target, Sweater - Camy Couture
Sandals - Target, Necklace - Stella and Dot

Shirt - Stitch Fix, Pants - Mossimo (Target)
Bag - Stitch Fix, Sandals - Marshalls, Necklace - Lia Sophia

Shirt and bag - Stitch Fix, Skirt - Gap (thrifted), Necklace - Stella and Dot
Sandals - Target, Bracelet - Nine West (gift from MN Blogger Bash)

Dress and bag - Stitch Fix, Necklace - Stella and Dot,
Sandals - Target

Lots of color this month, lots of skirts and dresses, and you can see I am pretty much still in love with this Urban Expressions bag from my April Stitch Fix.  I carry a different bag for a few days here or there and I keep coming back to this one!  I haven't had a crush this hard core on one of my clothing items in quite some time!  Which look is your favorite?

Thrift Style Thursday - To The Max

I missed out on Thrift Style Thursday last week while I was on vacation, but I'm back at it this week! Our theme was chosen by Megan of Traverse - maxi dresses.  I was all over this one!  I still triple love maxi dresses and maxi skirts for summer.  I was surprised however when I opened my closet that only one of my maxi dresses is actually thrifted.  I wore it in a post just a few weeks ago in fact, but this summer is all about mixing my closet, so you'll just get to see it again!

I snagged this dress at the Blogger Garage Sale I participated in a few weeks ago.  I couldn't resist the gray stripes and I thought it would replace a gray dress I had that is actually too big for me at this point.  I am in love with this dress, it's so comfy!  I see so many other potential ways to style it, but today I kind of turned it into a skirt by adding this gray top to it.

Shirt - Express (thrifted), Dress - Old Navy (garage sale)
Necklaces - swap and Stella and Dot, Purse - Chala

It's a bit rainy outside today, but a maxi skirt still works well on a rainy day too.  And hey, you can't beat not having to shave your legs, am I right ladies?  And I also got compliments from the hubby on this look too which pretty much means it's a winner.

Yep, this is pretty much going to be my summer uniform I think!  Perfect for warm or cool days, just can't beat it!

Be sure to check out the other Thrift Style Thursday gals at their blogs below to see how they styled their maxi dresses! And don't forget to visit our newest member Alison at Nouveau North Westerners!

Your Spring Style - Spring Celebrations

It's the last week of the Your Spring Style link up with Shea and Anne.  This week is all about spring celebrations - outfits we'd wear to spring weddings, graduations, parties, etc.  Sadly, we have no major celebrations this spring other than our own anniversary later in May.  That's ok though, I still pulled together a look I'd wear to a celebration.

I went a little more laid back on this one.  I think a maxi dress with a nice denim top or denim jacket makes a fun look for an outdoor gathering or barbecue.  I'd also wear something like this to dinner with Nate for our anniversary.  I like it because it looks nice but is so dang comfortable!  I'm a big fan of maxi dresses for their comfort!

Denim shirt - Old Navy, Maxi dress - Stitch Fix
Bag - Stitch Fix, Jewelry - Stella and Dot
Sandals - Target

This overall look even feels a bit nautical - I suppose it's the stripes and the fact that while you can't see super well in the pictures, this shirt has little anchors all over it.  Maybe I need to go to a celebration on a boat!

Below here I thought I'd share an up close picture of my arm party - I love layering lots of bracelets in the spring and summer, my arm has a celebration every day!

It sounds as if next spring and summer we'll have a lot more celebrations - I have heard of at least three weddings coming up in our families and I'm sure in addition to the weddings there will also be showers.  So, hopefully this stuff is all still in style next year and I'll be all set!

Do you have any celebrations coming up?  What would you wear to a spring celebration?  And be sure to check out Anne and Shea's blogs for other spring styles!  Thanks to the both of them for a fun link up this month!

Thrift Style Thursday - Show your Stripes

Told you all it was like fashion week on the blog!  Today is Thrift Style Thursday and this week's theme was chosen by Miche of Buttons and Birdcages - Show Your Stripes!  Stripes and I have a pretty good relationship, I own many, MANY striped things.  Today the challenge for me was not if I'd have something stripey to wear, but instead, what stripey thing should I wear?  I pulled out one of my newer thrifted goodies for today and decided to highlight that.

A few weeks ago when I showcased a recent thrift haul, I mentioned that this sweater was an accidental purchase, I had meant to leave it behind, but somehow still had it at checkout, so I just went with it.  In the end, I am so glad I did.  I have actually already worn this guy several times!  I added a striped cami that I adore - it's still a nursing cami and is probably one of the only ones I have left at this point, but I love the colors and it still fits, so I figure even if I don't need it for that purpose, might as well still wear it!  And then I also wore my favorite striped shoes - not thrifted, but they're just so darn fun I had to include them!

Dress - Cliche Mpls (from friend), Peach cami - Motherhood
Sweater - Mossimo (thrifted), Necklace - Camy Couture
Shoes - DSW

I was going to include Ollie in my post today too, I also dressed him in stripes today, but he's such a flash these days that getting a picture proved a challenge this morning.  So you'll all just have to take my word for it that he's playing along too!

I really do enjoy stripes.  I still think my favorite pattern is plaid, but stripes are a close second for sure.  And I still have a soft spot for polka dots.  There was a song when I was a kid by a kids group called Parachute that was titled "Polka Dots, Checks and Stripes" - about a girl who wore all three at once.  I don't think I would do that, but I do love my patterns, that's for sure!

Make sure to check out the other Thrift Style Thursday gals and how they're showing off their stripes!
