Inspiration Monday - Sort of

Happy Monday!  First full week since before Christmas, this could be rough!  Oh well, normal is good too right?  So today's Inspiration Monday look is from Blake Lively here.

I think my outfit from last Monday fits the bill better than what I came up with today, but so it goes!  Two of the items today are courtesy once again of my fabulous cousin.  I ran with my mom on Saturday to pick up the bags of clothes she left at my aunt's house - holy cow there was a ton of stuff!  There were FOUR full bags, of which I kept enough to fill one bag.  And believe me, that was still plenty!

So anyway, I guess this is one of those "I followed the inspiration if you squint" kind of outfits.  This sweater still had the tags on!  Man I love hand me downs!!

That was pretty much the most exciting part of my weekend.  I tried to kind of lay low and not do much so I could kick the cold to the curb and I was more or less successful.  I have lingering sniffles but nothing like it was.  I was bummed to not really go out with the Pants Monkey this weekend, but we got burgers from our favorite place and watched the second Harry Potter movie, so it wasn't a total wash of a weekend!

T-shirt - Ann Taylor (from cousin)
Sweater - Jones New York (from cousin)
Pants - Sonoma, thrifted
Bag - Nine West (gift from in-laws)
Necklace - S&D

I had wanted to start cleaning out my closet this weekend, but decided to wait until I had more energy.  I think that may be a project for next weekend now instead.  There is something about the New Year that makes me want to clean out everything and re-organize, not just my closet, but my entire house.  Fresh start!!

For more Inspiration Monday outfits that probably follow the inspiration a little better, head on over to two birds.

  14. (I think Blogger ate my comment)

Just to say - free gifts are the best! I also was given two tops last week by a friend who is going overseas.

  15. I had a tenuous outfit planned too (Yours isn't as tenuous as mine was) but I've had such a headache all day that it was all I could do to get through the day, let alone put on outfit and photograph!
I love hand-me-down bags- sadly I am the one that does all the hand-me-downing now, no-one does it to me!!!
I had a great thrift this morning at the charity shop near my Doctor's surgery- I came back with a gorgeous black fur scarf, blue shorts and a gorgeous brand-new drum for school -£12 instead of £40!!!
Anyway, I really like what you put together- love the palette of grey, white, black and the trousers are fab- totally my favourite kind of trouser shape!

  17. Relaxing weekends are good, especially when they result in you feeling better! I feel the same way too about wanting to re-organize, but somehow the energy keeps escaping me...you might need to in order to make room for all those clothes from your cousin though! :)

  18. Weee! How exciting. It's like the joy of thrifting without having to spend money. Discovery and digging to find goodies! Congrats on the hand-me-downs.

I decided to make the drive to my brother's before the school doldrums set in - and wow I am bad at traveling. It's only about a 4 hour trip, but I'm already sleepy at 7!

  20. Sorry to hear you still weren't 100% yourself over the weekend. But you're getting better! And that's good. Plus burgers and movie make a total awesome weekend nonetheless!

  21. It doesn't matter if you follow the inspiration to a T - we can call it loosely based on :) Either way I love the drapey layers... you look great in this outfit!
