Tie it in a bow

Spring is returning to us today!  I sure hope it's here to stay.  Knowing our luck it isn't, but that's why we just go one day at a time!  At any rate, even though the day started out chilly, I just had to wear a skirt again.  It was a pretty pants heavy week last week, so I just needed a skirt fix today.  I figured it has been awhile since I pulled out this fun patterned beauty, so it was time to do so again.

I don't think this sweater has ever made an appearance on the blog even though I've had it for a couple of years now.  I sometimes forget I have it, it ends up at the bottom of the drawer a lot.  It's cute and just about right for today's weather and I thought it would look nice with the skirt. I adore the bow!

As you see, I did stick with practical shoes today though because it's Tuesday again which means I'm entering the construction zone at work for my weekly photos.  It's super cool this week, they are digging a pit where an elevator is going at one end of the building and the hole is giant.  There's this adorable little crane type machine that the guy is using to do the digging - anyone remember those crane like sand toys at the playground?  It is totally like that.  I wonder if the guy used to play on one when he was a kid and thought "I wish I could do this when I grow up!"  I think it looks like fun, it probably isn't in reality!

Outfit rundown:

The "K"

I should call today's outfit "The K" in honor of my cousin.  Because the top is from the first bag of clothes I received back this fall, and the skirt is from the bag I received this spring.  I have no idea if she ever wore these items together, but I sure like the look!

It rained overnight and was still rather cloudy, so we're back inside for pictures today.  I realize looking at these that we have a lot of clutter in our kitchen.  Anyone else have that problem?  I think it's something about kitchens.

Speaking of clutter, now that it's April I am in total spring cleaning mode.  I found some organizational tips from Pinterest and I want (and really also need) to go through my closets and clean out my clothes and just overall reorganize.  It needs to be done at least twice a year so it's just time.  And I hope with these organizational ideas that maybe, just maybe they won't get so messed up until the next time I need to clean them out!  We'll see.  My goal is to do this over the weekend.

This second picture was goofy ole me showing that this skirt is a little bit saucy, with the slit up the middle.  Oh so scandalous!!  Have a great day everyone!

Outfit rundown:
Shirt - Coldwater Creek (from cousin)
Cami - Mossimo, Target

Cropped

Today's Layer Up is Cropped over Long.  So I chose a cropped cardigan over a long tank and long skirt.  I really like this skirt and I don't think I've worn it since the day the Pants Monkey broke his toes and that was way back in November.  I styled it similarly then too, but I just really like the way this sweater looks with this skirt, it just feels like they were meant to go together!

I don't mind that it's warmer outside again, even if it is making this challenge week even more challenging.  What I mind is the gross icky looking melted snow in our yards and on the street.  It just looks dirty outside. And if I had hope of seeing green grass and flowers after the melting is over, then that would be great, but it's  the last day of January so that is not possible.  So it's just going to look gross.  Now that I'm wishing for snow either.  I wish there was a happy medium!

And in the picture below, I was feeling a bit goofy today and tried to go for a dramatic pose, but could not stop giggling so you can see I'm smiling.  Kind of ruins the effect.  Yeah, I think I need more coffee.

Have a great day!  Don't forget to head over to Megan Mae's blog to get the master list of bloggers participating in Layer Up and check out their looks too!

Hectic

Man, it's getting crazy in these last days before Christmas - especially at work when I am off as of Friday!  Anyone else feeling the crunch?  Uffda.  Anyway, due to that, these pictures are a little more rushed and not as nice as usual, but here we go.

I am looking forward to the holidays and an extended time away from work!  It's nice to get a break!

I wish the Pants Monkey had time off too, I think he could use it, but unfortunately he only has the Monday after Christmas.  He and I will at least spend that day together though!

In other news, I have decided to keep this blog here at Blogger for the time being instead of going to WordPress. Thanks once again to the lovely Megan Mae, I have learned that there have been some widespread Blogger account issues, so it's not just a select few.  And she brought up the good point that this kind of thing happens with other major sites too.  I am still upgrading myself to a different email, namely because the Pants Monkey and I have our own website and he set me up an email there long ago that I had never tried using.  I've decided it's time to do that much.  But as for the blog, just going to stay right here for now!

I have a bit of a hippie vibe going with today's outfit - peasant blouse and long skirt - doesn't get much more hippie feeling than that.  Too cold to be barefoot though, he he.

Rundown:
Purple shirt - Mossimo, Target
Peasant shirt - Decree, JCPenney
Skirt - Charter Club, Macy's
Necklace - Maurices
Shoes - I think Payless from a VERY long time ago
