Spring 2015 Wishlist

In my Currently post the other day I mentioned some items I'm putting on my wishlist for spring. Because I'm off of work today enjoying an extra day with my little Ollie, I decided to just give a simple Friday Five today and share some items I found that would fit the bill for the things I'd love to have. It's a pretty simple list!

Spring 2015 Wishlist

I'd love these floral pixie pants from Old Navy and I think I might try their white pants to see how I like those as well.  I'm considering giving these Mossimo boyfriend jeans a try since I've liked a lot of their other jeans so far.  This pretty pink skirt I think would be really cute with a white t-shirt and a denim jacket.  And finally, I've been looking for an emerald green sweater.  I have a lot of mint but no true green, so this one from JCPenney would be awesome to have.  It remains to be seen if I'll actually buy any of these items though or if I'll just keep them in my head when I go thrifting and see if I can get them for a good deal!

What's on your spring wishlist?  Have a wonderful Easter weekend!!

Inspiration Monday - Weekend smiles

Hey everyone!  Back at it after a lovely three day weekend.  I wish all weekends were three days, no joke!  Anyway, I am playing along with two birds Inspiration Monday once again - I saw this very casual get up from Gwen Stefani and I was like - that's a mom weekend uniform if I ever saw one! (Side note, I want her bag!! And also, where are her son's shoes?)

This was a perfect look for a lazy Sunday with my boys - well ok we weren't that lazy, we went to the zoo for what I think is Oliver's fourth time now.  It's so nice having it so close and it's a nice place to walk around a bit.  It wasn't even that crowded this time so we had a pretty easy time getting close to the animals and such.

Of course we ended up there right around Ollie's naptime, so he ended up sleeping through part of it again.  This time he mostly slept through the Conservatory where all the plants are though.  We grabbed lunch outside after that since it was still pretty nice out.  It was supposed to rain yesterday but fortunately it held off until the evening!

Sweater - Arizona Jean Co (JCPenney), Tank top - Maurices
Boyfriend jeans - Old Navy, Necklace - Zulily, Sandals - Target

The rest of the weekend was pretty darn good too I must say - I scored some good deals for Oliver at the Just Between Friends sale on Friday (more on this later this week), Saturday I got to enjoy a quick coffee date with the awesome Lori while she was in town and then in the evening Nate and I enjoyed a fun summer party at a friends house.  Overall it was just one of those weekends that left me smiling at the end - which I must say has been a common occurrence this summer!

Minty Pink

I can't believe I haven't paired this shirt and these pants together yet - I had meant to awhile ago and just hadn't. The pictures don't do it justice, but there are some nice mint tones in with the pinks in this shirt, so it's a no brainier that it would go with my mint jeans!

Shirt - from cousin, Jeans - JCP (JCPenney)
Sandals - Mootsie Tootsie (from cousin)

Beyond that, I don't have anything terribly exciting to share today.  It's been raining and humid, seems Minnesota is starting to have a "monsoon" season each year about this time.  I predict in just another couple of weeks it will get super hot for awhile and then we'll be complaining about that!  I'm going to try to not complain about it when it happens - I actually wouldn't mind a warm day!

Thank you, Pinterest

Apparently it's "colored jeans" week on the blog.  But seriously, it's not warm out, so they are kind of the best alternative to a skirt or a dress for spring in my book!  And these pants are my favorite, they're stretchy and comfy, can't beat it!  This outfit is an idea I stole from a pin on Pinterest.  I did a more "wintery" version of it back in February (found here).  I know I say it all the time, but man, Pinterest is a life saver when I just don't know what to wear!  I feel like I should do a Jimmy Fallon style thank you note to Pinterest.  "Thank you Pinterest, for being there for me when I can't think for myself!"

Shirt - Merona (thrifted), Sweater - "A" Brand (Herbergers)
Jeans - JCP (JCPenney), Shoes - Xhilaration (Target)

At least the sun has come back today!  It may not be warm, but I am just so happy to see the sun!  Poor Oliver is missing the walks we take in the evenings - if the sun stays out today I think I might just bundle him up good and go tonight even if it isn't that warm!  He has the cutest little jacket, so it is an excuse for him to wear it if nothing else!

Fresh new day

Hello!  Thanks to all of you who read my vent yesterday and left such sweet comments!  The day got a little better and ended with Tylenol for baby, Nyquil for daddy and a beer for mommy, so it could have been worse!  We all got a little more sleep last night at least!  Today seems a little better so far!

So even though I am a little more rested I still was having a hard time deciding what to wear today - so I decided to let Pinterest dress me again!  I have a bunch of outfit ideas pinned right now that I can very easily put together and it so helps me some mornings when I'm in a fog!

It would be nice if I could start wearing items I've pinned that are more spring like, but since winter is holding on here, I chose a "winter to spring" type look with my mint jeans, boots and a scarf.  It would be very easy to do this look again later in spring by removing the scarf like the gal above did in one picture and maybe even wearing flats instead of boots!

Sweater - Decree, JcPenney, thrifted
Tank top - Liz Lange nursing top, from friend
Jeans - JCP, JcPenney
Boots and scarf - Target

I always feel so fresh when I wear these jeans - I suppose part of that is because they are mint and mint equals freshness!  I just love that I can cheat and wear jeans to work as long as they are colored!  I should get a few other pairs in various colors - the only other pair I have is red.

So anyway, today just feels better overall so it seemed like a good day to wear a "fresh" look for a "fresh" new day.  Hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday as well!

Spring is springing

We have finally had some decent weather here in Minnesota this week - it's been wonderful!  So much stuff is melting, it's just fantastic.  We've been taking little family walks in the evenings and Oliver loves it!  Sadly, next week is not looking quite as nice, so we've just been enjoying it while it lasts!  Anyway, in the spirit of spring, I pulled together a very springy outfit.

Sweater - Mossimo, Target
Scarf - Mossimo, Target
T-shirt - Mudd, Kohls
Pants - JCP, JcPenney
Shoes - Xhilaration, from Lori

All my favorite colors rolled into one look!  It just feels so fresh and happy - but still keeping me warm as it isn't so nice you can't go without sleeves quite yet.

This weekend we have a wedding to go to for one of my cousins.  It will be a couple of firsts for Oliver - first wedding and first longer car ride as we'll have to travel almost two hours to get there.  I'm a little nervous about it, but hopefully he will nap in the car and be fresh and happy at the actual wedding.  We'll see how things go I guess!  Wish us luck!

I'm also linking up with the fabulous Renae for Fashion Item Friday - she's talking spring and I think my springy scarf fits the bill perfectly!  Head on over to her blog to see what Fashion Item Friday is all about!

Pinned and Did It - Channeling spring

I always end up doing a clothing post when I link up with Heather's Pinned It and Did It.  I really want to try other things I've pinned too, but right now I've been needing some clothing inspiration, so here you go.  I saw this pin this week and I loved the pairing of a darker green with the mint colored pants - and I had everything to recreate it!

I decided this outfit would be a good way to channel spring even if it is still colder than the North or South Pole outside again today.  I went for a blazer instead of a moto jacket look - partly because it's what I had but also because it would keep me warmer!

Blazer - Calvin Klein, thrifted
Camisole - Old Navy
Jeans - JCP, JCPenney
Boots - Mossimo, Target
Necklace - Bead for Life

I have a few other pinned outfits I'm excited to try out.  I've been complaining all week about how I'm feeling kind of sartorially challenged between the weather and dressing for being able to nurse/pump and all that jazz, so I do what I always do and let Pinterest help me out!

Winterfresh

I really adore how this outfit turned out.  I got the idea from Heather of Style Journey to winterize my mint jeans - and found a pin on Pinterest as well that inspired me and here is the result.  I love it!

 Sweater - "A" brand, Herbergers
Polka dot shirt - F21
Jeans - JCP brand, JCPenney
Boots - Target

I was so excited to finally get mint jeans last spring and then was only able to wear them a handful of times as I found out I was pregnant the day I bought them!  Thankfully they had some stretch in them so I was able to wear them for a couple of months before they got a little too snug.  I'm happy to wear them again now!

This was from Wednesday.  Today I'm off of work to go to Oliver's two month well child visit.  With shots. Wish us luck.  Poor baby.
