Pinned It and Did It - Semi Halloween Spirit

I'm linking up with Heather's Pinned and Did It today.  And actually, this is an outfit pin I totally stole from her!  I liked the orange and black together and decided it was the best I could do for some Halloween spirit today.

Didn't quite go for bare legs as it's a little damp and chilly today, but otherwise I think this was kind of a fun look to copy and easy for me to do being pregnant.  I love that this little sweater dress still stretches over the bump for me!

I gotta let you in on a little secret though.  You might disown me or decide we can't be internet friends anymore.  I'm not a big fan of Halloween.  There, I said it.  I do put a few decorations out each year and I have had fun dressing in costume some years too - but I'm not that crafty or creative, so putting together costumes is always a challenge.  I'm not a fan of being startled or scared, so haunted houses are out for me. And our neighborhood really has few children, so we only get a handful of trick or treaters each year if we're lucky.  This year is exceptionally hard for me - no candy with the GD diet.  No crazy parties and drinking with friends.  So yeah, call me the Halloween Scrooge I guess.  I'm really excited for next year though - I absolutely cannot wait to dress up my little guy in a costume!  I look forward to taking him trick or treating when he's old enough.  I think a lot of holidays are more fun when kids are involved.

I certainly do not hate Halloween - in fact one of my favorite Charlie Brown specials of all time is It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.  But I love other holidays just a little bit more.  Thanksgiving?  Oh yeah, let's talk about that.  Mmm, turkey.

Head on over to H&K Style Journey for more Pinned and Did It blog posts!

  1. This is a great way to get into the Halloween spirit without wearing a costume! That fitted black dress shows off the bump nicely :) I'm not that into Halloween this year either...I'm just dressing up the dogs and that's it!

  6. You look so cute! And I'm so glad you got into the Halloween spirit! Have a good one!

  7. Oooh, pretty outfit, good pin girl! I don't do Halloween. Not great connotations with it though I can enjoy and laugh at people's outfits as long as they aren't horror ones!x

  8. You are in for such a ride and Halloween will definitely change for you when you see the delight in that little guys eyes. This is my youngest's last year trick or treating and I am sorry to be closing that chapter..

  9. Wow, this is one seriously hot ensemble. Love the slinky open-weave cardi.

I still love you, Halloween Scrooge!

  10. This is a great outfit - I love the lacy look of the cardigan. Not a fan of Hallowe'en? That's it, our friendship is over! Lol, kidding of course! Totally cool - to each her own, right?

  11. Great inspiration Bethie! Hope you Halloween was Happy. I am so late but this is the first time all day I have had time. You look so dang cute in this ensemble you pinned! Super cute.

  12. This is a little Halloween inspired yet the Pepper-Orange shade of your Cardigan is prettier. I also love all that intricate crochet work. Great re-creation. Pregnancy agrees with you, Beth.

It was Vivian's 1st Halloween this year. By this time next year it will be your baby's 1st Halloween. I am not a huge fan of it either but I think it's cute to dress up the kids especially when they are little.

I miss you over my blog. When you have a free day stop by. You are welcome. Enjoy the weekend!! Ada. =)

  13. I love this look!! It's so perfectly layered. I'm right there with you about not being a huge fan of Halloween. I think the most fun part of it for me is because it makes me realize that the holiday season is getting ready to begin. :)

  14. love the all black look with your orange cardigan -- now i'm kind of regretting not wearing a cardigan i have in a similar orange shade on halloween last week but honestly, i am a bit of a halloween grinch myeslf and have very little interest whatsoever in the holiday! you are not alone!

  15. I'm shocked that you're not a big fan of Halloween! I love the need to buy presents for a bunch of people and you get to eat tons of candy. :)

Thanks for stopping by and saying hello! It makes my day to hear from you!
