So I really don't like bugs.  I either avoid them or I get the Pants Monkey to kill them for the most part.  I will admit to being a scaredy cat girly girl.  There are a few exceptions though - tiny fruit flies?  Yeah, I'll kill those.  Tiny ants?  I'll kill those too.  Spiders?  If they are little and not too dark colored I will sometimes kill them, but a lot of times, I leave them be - they do eat other bugs after all.  But anyway, you see the overall theme here?  If they are TINY I will deal with them.

So last night I was getting ready to get out of my evening bath when a very large black spider started crawling across the floor.  Considering I'd have to be barefoot near this monstrosity was not something I was terribly excited about.  I thought about yelling for the Pants Monkey and then I thought about it and I said to myself, "Self, you are going to be somebody's mom.  It's time to act like the mom.  Just do it."  So I side stepped the spider as I got out, grabbed some tissue and killed him all by myself.  I was pretty dang proud of myself!!

I have to say, one of the best things about being pregnant is being able to wear leggings pretty much all the time and no one complaining about it.  I will also say though, I can't get enough of the Simply Vera brand from Kohls - these particular leggings are made to look like pants, they even have pockets on the back.  The material is almost a light denim feel.  And they are COMFY.  I can't say enough good things about them.  I'd wear them even if I wasn't pregnant!

*Not compensated in any way - just sharing because I truly love!*

  1. Way to go on killing that spider! I know that is a huge deal for you! Cute outfit today!

  2. woo hoo! Good on you! I've heard that being a mother is being fearless!

  3. Haha! Good job! My husband hates spiders, I kill the vast majority of them around here!

  4. You go girl! Kill that spider :) This week I have had to be on stink bug duty. My hubby is out of town so I have had to do all the bug killing and shooing this week. Those darn stink bugs are trying to get to their warm places this fall and it seems like they love my house.

This is a really cute outfit. Loving your side views so we can see your bump :)

  5. Eek bugs freak me out and I usually have my hubby kill them. Good for you for taking care of that spider yourself! You are braver than me . :)

I love the graphic print on that top!

    Scarf Giveaway!

  6. Love the leggings, they look great on you!

  7. Great on the bravery Bethie! I have been killing bugs/spiders since I was 10. We lived in a rural area and bugs just were all over. Mice and Snake abounded, too. I have killed a snake many times but mice have to be De-Con dead. I can't do traps. In my neighborhood here; just spiders! Been here two years and haven't seen one snake or mouse. Yay! But the spiders are getting away from me more and more. My reflexes have slowed and I DON'T LIKE IT! hahahahaha. Thanks for the vote on my outfit today. Yours is dang cute and I bet super comfy!

  8. I hate spiders too. Well done for tackling it yourself. You look super cute here! Xx

  9. that is quite impressive. i've been a mom for 8.5 years and i still can't do stuff like that! unless they are crawling towards my kids. unless it's a centipede!!! i love vera wang leggings, cozy!

  10. cute outfit!! I can't kill bugs. I make my mister do it - even yesterday, when my friend was terrified of a stink bug, I just couldn't do it. Together we tried to vacuum the little guy up. It was certainly an adventure!

  11. Lurv the outfit! And good job being tough and taking care of that pesky spider! :-)

  12. What an awesome top! Hurray for killing a spider (yuck!). You are very brave.

  13. I love the story about the fierce mommy instincts kicking in! You are also one of the most glamorous pregnant ladies I've ever seen.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hello! It makes my day to hear from you!
