Thrift Style Thursday - The Mod Squad

This is a loosely based "mod" look today for Thrift Style Thursday.  One of my all time favorite dresses would be perfect for a mod styled look - but it is definitely not nursing friendly, so it waits in my closet for a later date. I had seen a pin on Pinterest of a sewing pattern from the sixties of an outfit with a pink striped skirt like this - so I kind of based my look today on that.  I figured the scarf and sunglasses help add a touch of "mod" as well - and then added Hipster Cat since hipster seems to be today's version of mod!

Sweater - Mossimo (Target), Scarf - Target
Skirt - Mix It (thrifted), Sunglasses - Lillian's Shoppes
Sandals - consignment

Of course, I always joke that if I was around in the sixties I wouldn't be a "mod" type gal - I'd be much more of a hippie instead!  Also, this mod style reminds me that Mr. Monkey and I seriously need to get caught up on Mad Men this summer.  It's available on Amazon streaming though so I think we can make that happen fairly easily!  Not until we finish Orange is the New Black though!!

Hipster mom and son

It's the return of Hipster cat!  I knew when I bought this sweater that I would absolutely be pairing it with this skirt. I still can't believe all the ways I've found I've been able to wear this bad boy!

Sweater - Mossimo (Target), Skirt - two birds vintage (b. resale)
Tank top - Zulily, Sandals - Merona (Target)
Bracelet - Bead for Life

I was pretty excited this weekend - when I went to Once Upon a Child, I found a larger size of one of my favorite onesies that Oliver had outgrown - this adorable fox one from Old Navy.  So, since I was wearing Hipster Cat today, I decided he had to wear Hipster Fox.

I had my mom take our picture together this morning - the result wasn't perfect, but we tried!  He's getting rather distract-able these days, so it can be hard to get good pictures!

We're hip together!  Or just nerdy.  Or maybe we're both!  Either way, I think he's pretty cute, I'm excited to have this onesie again and hope he can wear it for a bit longer!
