Accessorize Yourself

Well it's finally tolerable outside again! I'm so happy about that! I hope some of the rest of you are getting a break in this crazy summer heat too.

Today's outfit was one I was a little unsure of at first, but it came together really well, especially once I accessorized. I would like to note that every single piece of jewelry I'm wearing today came from Charming Charlie. I think it's probably because I'm antsy to go shopping there again, I haven't been there since June! Anyway, I really feel the jewelry added a nice touch to the overall outfit today, especially the necklace. It's a bold necklace that doesn't work with just anything, but I like it with this shirt. I also mixed patterns again - but I do think it works, at least I hope so!

The rundown:

Shirt: Arizona Jeans Co. from JcPenney

Skirt: Cliche

Sandals: Thrifted

Watch, bracelet, necklace and earrings: Charming Charlie

Dressy AND Comfy

Today I think I have my first "repeat" of something besides purses and jewelry. I wore this shirt during the first week I blogged and I really disliked the pictures that day. You can see the post here. I think I have improved some since then!

Anyway, it's another fairly simple outfit today. I love these gauchos, they are so comfy, but yet they still look dressy enough for work. I also adore my bag, I had my eye on it for months and when Shop Suey had a special where you could take 20% off, I jumped at the opportunity to finally add this bag to my collection. I know it has been a popular style among celebrities and many of the online boutiques have their own take on it for cheaper. It's roomy and surprisingly lightweight and I think it'll be a standard of mine moving into fall.

Speaking of fall, I'm so ready to move back into pants and sweaters. It's been so warm here this year, which is why you've seen me in so many skirts, dresses and capri pants. At least I have found some amazing deals on these things this year so I could expand my summer wardrobe a bit. But I am seeing fall clothes out in the stores now and I am ready to start shopping for them? How about the rest of you? On we go I guess!

Today's rundown:

Shirt - DKNY (thrifted)

Gaucho pants - East 5th Street (thrifted)

Back to the grind

Hello fashion friends! I am back from my week long vacation! We had a great time in St. Louis, even though it was crazy hot there! I didn't manage to get any fun outfit posts, though I did have some cute ones - mostly tank tops and shorts!

Today I am back to the daily grind at work and chose items from my closet I have had for quite awhile actually. I do have one new addition that I bought while in St. Louis - the purse I am carrying today. I didn't like the bag I brought with me, so I sought out a Kohl's and found this really neat bag by Relic, it can be carried multiple ways which is awesome! The rest of my outfit almost entirely came from Old Navy, which is kind of ironic actually! I'm happy to be back to my regular routine!

Today's rundown:
Sweater - Old Navy

Cami - Old Navy

Skirt - Old Navy

Sandals - Marshalls

Purse - Relic from Kohl's

Bracelet - Thrifted

Watch - Mudd from Kohl's

Necklace and earrings - Butterfly Boutique

Ready for vacation

Greetings! We have made it to Friday and it's Casual Friday again for me - made even better because today I work a half day and then I AM ON VACATION!! I am very excited if you couldn't tell. Today's outfit is simple and not terribly special, though I do like this shirt a great deal, it is very fun. I'm also wearing some of my favorite jeans ever, not surprisingly by Ann Taylor LOFT. This stuff just fits like it was made for my body.

After today the blog will be quiet for about a week. Fear not, I am packing some fun clothes for my trip and I will hopefully have some good outfit posts when I come back. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a great week and I'll see you all soon!

Today's Rundown:

Shirt: Daytripper (thrifted)

Jeans: LOFT (thrifted)

Sandals: Marshalls

Maxi to the Max

Today we finally have the last of my finds from the 4th of July sale at Cliche. I have been rebelling against the maxi dress for so long, but I finally gave in - especially because this one was very, very cheap and it also reminds me of a dress I had and loved when I was in high school. So, I bought it even though it was a hair too long. Thankfully my mother is pretty good with hems and was able to help me with that! She finally finished it this week.

It's a touch cooler here today finally, giving us a bit of relief from the heatwave, but I've been on such a dress/skirt kick this week I decided that I'd keep it going and since this one is so long, it it is more comfortable since it isn't as hot!

I am shorty as I've mentioned before, so I was unsure if a maxi style dress would work for me, but I think this one does ok, especially because it is layered a bit. The ribbon detailing is so much fun. I really love it.

One more outfit post coming tomorrow before a week long hiatus - going out of town for a bit to visit some family. Getting pretty excited for a vacation!!

Today's Rundown:

Dress: Cliche

Sweater: Old Navy

Yet another sundress!

When it's as hot as it's been here in the usually cold MN area, it's just easy to wear sundresses. They look great with very little effort on my part and they are cool and comfortable! Thank goodness I have a closet full of them!

This particular dress I found at Clothes Mentor towards the end of last summer, so I didn't get to wear it too much, so I've been really enjoying being able to wear it more this year! It's a brand that seems to fit me super well - Ann Taylor - I'd never be able to afford most of Ann Taylor clothes new, so I love it when I find that kind of stuff at places like Clothes Mentor!!

Hope all of you who may also be suffering through a heat wave, as most of the country is right now, are able to stay cool!!

Today's rundown:
Dress - Ann Taylor (thrifted)

Shrug - LEI (thrifted)

Sandals - Thrifted by my mom

Sunglasses - DG from Lillian's

Watch - Butterfly Boutique

Necklace - Fun Sisters

Earrings - Craft show

Exotic

This is without a doubt one of my favorite dresses ever. I got it almost two years ago at a Ragstock, in the "new" department, not the "used" department and it is perfect for a hot, muggy day. I love the print - it feels kind of exotic and jungle like to me!

I add the shrug simply for the fact that again, it's air conditioned inside and also, this dress is rather low cut in front, so for work I kind of need to cover up the cleavage. If I was going out with the Pants Monkey or some friends, it wouldn't matter quite as much. Some fun new touches for this standard summer outfit are the purse I picked up this weekend on my thrifting adventures at Clothes Mentor and also the bracelet I found there as well. I'm cool and comfy once again which is important during the hottest week of the summer!

The rundown:

Shrug: Mossimo, Target

Dress: Brand unknown, purchased new at Ragstock

Bracelet: Thrifted from Clothes Mentor

Bag: Axcess by Liz Claiborne (thrifted)

Necklace: Premier Jewelry in home party

Sandals: Target
