Thrift Style Thursday - Fall Scarves

What a timely post for this week's Thrift Style Thursday!  I was just talking the other day about how scarves have been my accessory of choice most days in my new style vibe!  I really do love them, I just can't seem to get enough these days!  The one I'm wearing today was a super score from Savers - $2.99.  Yep, you can't beat that.  It's lightweight enough that it would work in the summer, but the colors definitely help give it a fall/winter vibe.  I love the girly ruffles as well!

I seriously think in the last two months I have doubled the number of scarves I actually own.  It could be viewed as a problem, but at least with this new addiction the bonus is - scarves hardly take up any room for storage, unlike purses and shoes!  They fold up small and can easily go in a drawer!

Sweater - Lands End, Denim top - Old Navy (from an awesome IG friend)
Pants - b. (a resale shop), Scarf - thrifted (Savers)
Boots - Target

I'm excited to be participating in a scarf swap with some other bloggers this month too.  I love swaps! I already found an awesome scarf to send to my giftee, I can't wait to see what she sends me!

Are you a fan of scarves as an accessory?  Or do they just serve the purpose of keeping you warm in the winter?

Bands

I'm pretty much dressed for comfort today.  It's warm and humid out and I'm going right from work to a ladies night with the ladies from my music group, so I kind of planned my outfit around that.  I LOVE these new capris I thrifted from Savers - they are from Motherhood (I vow during this pregnancy to never buy anything new from there - too expensive!) and they are probably the most comfy pants I now own.  Elastic bands are awesome.

Tank top - Cliche Minneapolis
Cami - Old Navy
Capris - Motherhood Maternity, thrifted
Shrug - Old Navy
Necklace - Camy Couture
Bracelets - Clothes Mentor, a Little Bird on Grand
Sandals - Mootsie Tootsie, from cousin

Speaking of bands of a different type - this morning while we were both getting ready, the Pants Monkey and I were talking about bands we liked in high school (aka the mid to late 90's) and whatever happened to some of them.  Groups like Smash Mouth and Chumbawumba.  They gave us a couple of sing along (or shout along) anthems and now they are gone.  Sometimes I wonder what gives one band staying power and another one a trip to the musical graveyard.  Random thoughts in my head.  You have to love it.

Tropical

Today's outfit feels almost Hawaiian to me. I'm sure it's the floral print on this dress.  I realized I had been wanting to pair this shirt with this dress and hadn't done so yet, and figured, the closer we're getting to Fall, the less I want to wear these kind of bright, almost spring like colors, so now is the time.

Of course I'm still struggling with the lighting in the morning.  Might have to try the backyard tomorrow.  Although I heard there's a chance of rain tomorrow, so perhaps I'll be taking pictures inside anyway!  Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow since it's the first day of the MN State Fair, but we're not going until Friday, so I'd rather it rain tomorrow than on Friday!

You can see I'm back to my Gussy bag - I have to tell you though, this is the first time I've switched in over a month now!  Aside from being up north last week that is.  Otherwise, that Jenna Lou bag I bought in July?  I haven't stopped carrying it until today.  I'm turning over a new leaf!  And I pretty much went back to Gussy today because I love how it compliments this outfit and it's another item I don't see myself really using much into the Fall, so I figured I might want to give it another spin.

In other news I'm stalking UPS and anxiously waiting for the arrival of my Stella and Dot goodies.  I was finally able to close the party and get my order placed this past Monday.  I gotta say - happy way early birthday to me.  I will be rolling in new jewelry and shouldn't need anymore for quite awhile!  I'll be sure to share my goodies when they actually show up!

Outfit rundown:
Dress - vintage, Salvaged Strawberry
Shirt - vintage, Savers
Sandals - Marshalls (old)
Necklace - swap with CC
Bracelets - Bead for Life and thrifted
Bag - Gussy Sews

Goodbye July

Anyone else staring to get summer fatigue?  I thought I was doing pretty well and then all of sudden I opened my closet today and went...I don't want to wear any of this stuff!  And it's silly, I have items I've worn only once or not at all yet but I was just like...nope.  I want a sweater and boots.  Or maybe it's not even that, I think I'm just a little uninspired lately.  I do like the outfit I pulled together today as I've only worn this skirt once so far.

Truth is, even if I claim summer fatigue, it's been a good summer.  And it's hard to believe that July is pretty much over and August is tomorrow.  We're into the last summer stretch already.  But we have fun plans throughout the month of August that I am very much looking forward to.  It could end up being the best month of summer!

We're going "up north" to one of my favorite places in Minnesota in just a couple of weeks for a few days and I'm really excited for it.  We also have a day trip to a brewery in Wisconsin one day.  We have our State Fair at the end of the month.  And hopefully many more dinners on patios.  We try to take advantage of the ability to sit outside for as long as we can!

So how about you?  Summer fatigue?  Wishing it would never end and you can wear tank tops and skirts forever?  Is your summer going fast or slow?  Are you having a good summer?

Outfit rundown:
Shirt - Heart and Soul via JCPenney
Skirt - Vintage via Savers
Sandals - Issac Mizrahi for Target, thrifted
