Currently...

I've been seeing lots of these "currently" type posts on other blogs and decided to do my own today.  Here's a little peek inside what's currently going on inside my brain!

---Currently I am---

Loving...that it's truly spring!  On a whim we decided to eat dinner outside at one of our favorite patios last night because Ollie had taken a very late nap, so we felt we could delay bedtime just a little bit.  It was lovely.

Wishing....that Ollie's teeth would seriously just pop in already.  And that I could work out a more favorable  work situation to spend more time with him.

Waiting....for vacation to get here.  Just over a week and I'm mildly stressed out, but it will all come together!

Planning...our vacation and some various yardwork we need to do around the house.  There are not enough hours in the day.

Dreading....packing for our trip - I still have no idea just what all we need/want to bring with us!  And I just hate packing anyway!

Wearing....this lovely long skirt and polka dot top.  I don't care if this skirt makes me look like I belong on Little House on the Prairie, I love it, it's comfy and bonus - I didn't have to shave today.

Shirt - Forever 21, Skirt - Old Navy
Necklace - Stella and Dot, shoes - from cousin

Excited...to see three of my favorite sorority sisters for dinner, two of them live out of town and I do not get to see them nearly as often as I would like.  We're all planning to stay at our college next month for our ten year reunion as well and I'm looking forward to a fun weekend with them!

Wanting....a black maxi skirt - seriously, why is this so hard to find?  And some more colorful shoes, I feel like my shoes are all so neutral and boring!

Watching....we're still working through the West Wing.  We've been getting into the new Fargo series as well.  Anxiously awaiting the next season of Orange is the New Black which will be out in just a couple of more weeks!

Thinking...a little too much lately about a number of things that have been actually getting me down a little bit. Probably even overthinking a few of them.  Looking forward as I've said to vacation and also getting my spa day scheduled and I think that will help a ton!

Eating....too much junk.  I try to keep a fairly balanced diet for the breastfeeding, but it's tough sometimes. I'm glad our CSA starts up pretty soon, time to clean up my diet a bit more!

Laughing....at Oliver's new skill - shrieking at the top of his lungs - it's joyful and I'm sure I'll get annoyed by it eventually (it's ear piercing) but he's just so dang happy when he does it I can't help but smile and laugh!

There you have it - a little peek in my brain.  What's currently going on with you?

Hipster mom and son

It's the return of Hipster cat!  I knew when I bought this sweater that I would absolutely be pairing it with this skirt. I still can't believe all the ways I've found I've been able to wear this bad boy!

Sweater - Mossimo (Target), Skirt - two birds vintage (b. resale)
Tank top - Zulily, Sandals - Merona (Target)
Bracelet - Bead for Life

I was pretty excited this weekend - when I went to Once Upon a Child, I found a larger size of one of my favorite onesies that Oliver had outgrown - this adorable fox one from Old Navy.  So, since I was wearing Hipster Cat today, I decided he had to wear Hipster Fox.

I had my mom take our picture together this morning - the result wasn't perfect, but we tried!  He's getting rather distract-able these days, so it can be hard to get good pictures!

We're hip together!  Or just nerdy.  Or maybe we're both!  Either way, I think he's pretty cute, I'm excited to have this onesie again and hope he can wear it for a bit longer!

Introducing: Closet of Boo

I did it.  I pulled the trigger and set up my Instagram shop!  It's not much so far - about seven items, a couple of pictures of which I can already tell I'll need to retake, they didn't turn out super great, but it's a start!  It's a small little endeavor to try and make a little money on the items in my closet I'm not loving for myself as much anymore - but figure someone else might!  I've been doing too much shopping as of late, I need to reel it in a bit, but at least maybe this will offset my spending a little bit!  I'll have a link up at the top of my blog here that will take you to the shop - but you can also find it here: Closet of Boo  I appreciate any followers and anyone spreading the word - I hope to add more items soon, so stay tuned!

Inspiration Monday - Lazy days

Annnnnnd it's Monday again.  These weekends pass by too fast sometimes.   Ok not just sometimes, they pass by too fast all of the time!  I'm linking up with two birds for Inspiration Monday today - I absolutely love this laid back look from Gwyneth Paltrow.

I had intentions of doing a similar look for today with the boyfriend jeans and everything but then hit two problems - one, the boyfriend jeans I ordered from Old Navy haven't arrived yet and two, we spent the majority of our weekend in pajamas/yoga pants!  So instead, I made it work for work today.

It was one of those nice weekends where we didn't have anything scheduled so we just kind of did things as we felt like it.  And while we were having our nice pajama morning on Saturday, The Pants Monkey came up with a great idea to take Ollie over to one of our Farmers Markets, buy some of our favorite local meat from local farms and just wander around a bit there.  So we got dressed - and by that I mean pretty much a step above pajamas - and headed over there.  Oliver loved it.  Mr. Monkey carried him in our Ergo carrier and he just looked around and took it all in.  He even fell asleep!  We packed him back up and decided to hit our favorite restaurant for a late brunch/early lunch.  After that we headed home, I met up with my mom and we sold some of Ollie's outgrown items to Once Upon a Child.  We had a little wine/cheese night for dinner after Ollie went to bed and we sat out on our deck for a long time because it was a beautiful night.

Blazer - American Eagle (thrifted), Tank top - Liz Lange nursing (Target)
Leggings - Simply Vera (Kohls), Shoes - Steve Madden (consignment), Necklace - Lia Sophia

I won this necklace at a friend's Lia Sophia party!

Sunday was more of the same - more lazy time in pajamas, more time outside because it was gorgeous.  Mr. Monkey got some yard stuff done, including re-painting the light post at the end of our driveway that has been rusted and ugly looking for quite some time.  We took Ollie to the park near us for a walk.  We grilled for dinner.  It was just a nice and relaxing weekend overall!  I'd had a less than ideal week last week, so it was very much needed!

Floral Friday

So this was actually last Friday's outfit, but I decided to share it today and link up with Renae's awesome Fashion Item Friday.  The highlight of this outfit is my floral top from my first Stitch Fix box.  I have some other ideas for this top, possibly pairing it with my mint jeans, pink jeans or maybe my pink pencil skirt.  For the first go round I decided plain old jeans would work well too!

Top - Kut from the Kloth (Stitch Fix), Jeans - Levi's (thrifted)
Shoes - from cousin

Definitely not warm enough for this top today.  My car said 40 degrees this morning.  Brr.  I hear rumors spring is returning to us this weekend.  I will keep my fingers crossed I guess!  I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Thrift Style Thursday - Cute and quirky

This week we're showcasing something cute and quirky for Thrift Style Thursday.  I don't think it gets more quirky than loud plaid pants!  Long time readers of my blog will know I thrifted these bad boys a couple of years ago now and they're one of my frequent flyer pieces - I don't even know if I could count the number of ways I've styled them at this point!

For "cute" I added in one of my other thrifted closet staples - my famed "suicide shoes" (named as such by the Pants Monkey because I used to trip in them).  I tend to not wear these shoes much in the winter since they're clogs (clogs plus ice and snow just equals no).  I also didn't wear them much last summer due to being pregnant, so I'm kind of excited to be able to wear them again!

And finally the other "thrifted" piece is actually from a consignment store - but it's also cute and quirky I think - at the very least it's unique - and that would be my favorite leather Coach bag.  It's not their typical style and I think that's why I like it, I love the braided detail on the top of the handle and I love the metal hardware on it.  This is definitely one of my favorite bags.  All in all I think this is a fun look for work today and also for the Twin Cities Mom's Blog Mom's Night Out event I'm going to tonight after work.  Any other local moms going tonight?  Look for me!  I'll be hard to miss in my crazy pants here!

Shirt - Dress Barn, Pants - No Boundaries (thrifted)
Necklace - Charming Charlie, Shoes - Steve Madden (thrifted)
Bag - Coach (consignment)
