It was threatening rain this morning, so I opted to take my pictures when I got to work.  I'm glad I did and thankfully I made it in before it started downpouring.  It was dark as night out though I swear!  Makes you want to just go back to bed!

Speaking of bed, I was so proud of myself because I had decided I would get up early and do a workout, turned my alarm on last night and got to sleep at a decent time.  Then this morning, Mr. Monkey's alarm is what woke me up - a good 15 minutes after my alarm was supposed to go off.  I looked over and my alarm was still set.  Now I'm confused.  I bet you're all thinking I set it for PM instead of AM.  Nope.  I hadn't changed it from the time I had it set for over the weekend when I wanted to get up by a specific time one day.  Oops!  Oh well, best laid plans.  The extra 15 minutes of sleep was kind of nice!

Inspiration Monday - Checked out

Hello!  Hope you all had wonderful weekends - especially those that got to take advantage of an extra long weekend with the holiday on Thursday.  My weekend was lovely.  I managed to get off work a little early on Friday and had a fun date night with my Pants Monkey that included ice cream - some of the best ice cream in our area in fact!  Saturday we ran a bunch of errands and had a belated anniversary dinner with his parents.  Sunday we actually got some stuff done around the house in prep for both the baby and our upcoming garage sale.  So it was a good weekend.  But now it's Monday - but hey, it's Inspiration Monday! Today's model of choice is Rebecca Minkoff.

Her printed pants are so adorable - but none of my printed pants still fit all that well and I wasn't in the mood to wear a belly band with them - not to mention, it's going to be 90 degrees or more today, so a skirt was necessary.

I'm so mentally checked out - there may be five full days of work this week, but it's five days until I have a week long vacation!  And it cannot come fast enough - I swear my office has had more issues lately with the building we are in.  And since I support facilities, well, it's been nuts some days.  But right now my mind is up in Northern Minnesota which is where I will happily be very soon!

Seventeen

I hope everyone here in the US had a great July 4th holiday yesterday!  I wore a pretty cute patriotic outfit yesterday, but never took the time to take pictures or blog it.  I was just too busy enjoying time with family and friends!  My parents had a picnic and we spent the entire afternoon outside eating good food, drinking lemonade and having a bocce ball tournament.  My team came in 2nd.  At least the Pants Monkey came in first, so I couldn't feel too bad about losing, lol!

So today I'm back at work.  There aren't many people here, I have hopes of leaving early, but we'll see how the day goes.  At least I'm comfy!  I know I said I was done shopping for now, but while my dad and Mr. Monkey were golfing yesterday before our picnic, my mom and I hit the Goodwill near her because everything was 50% off.  So, I got another pair of maternity jeans (finding these more comfortable than trying to wear my jeans with a belly band) and this tank top.  And I spent under $10.  Best kind of sale!

Speaking of maternity, we're 17 weeks today!  The bump is definitely getting more and more defined each day.  No movement yet, but I understand that can come anytime between now and 20 weeks, so I'm not too worried about that.

Influenster Mary Kay Beauty VoxBox Vlog

Here is my long awaited Vlog on my new Mary Kay Vox Box from Influenster!  Ok, maybe not long awaited, but hey, I haven't vlogged in quite awhile, so you get to hear my pretty voice!  I'm excited about the products that were in this box.  I made this video last week and then tested the items the very next day.  So, here's my video review (forgive the scrub look, this was after my evening walk one day):

If you didn't take the the time to watch the video (and that's ok, I'll still love you) the items in the box were: lash primer, mascara, cream eye shadow, a cream eye shadow brush and lipstick.

I'm really liking everything so far - especially the mascara and primer - I'm surprised at how much I like the primer in fact!  The purple is really pretty and I can't get enough of the lipstick either.  All around thumbs up from me!  I may have to look up my old Mary Kay consultant!

Look, I broke my blue/white streak today!  Ok, there's still some white, but the rest of the colors I decided to shake it up a bit - mint!  I haven't worn mint for a while now and decided that this cute shirt I got at Clothes Mentor during the sale last weekend needed to be worn.  It's not even a maternity top, but it sure works great as one!

It also still had it's original tags on - so I feel like I got a pretty darn good deal!  I have no complaints, I think I bought four things at that sale and only spent $24.00.  And now I'm challenging myself to get through the rest of the summer on what I've got.  I'll need some things when fall and winter hit when I'm a bit bigger, so I should save up for then!

It's such an odd day - feels like Friday, but it's Wednesday.  And of course, since I have to come back on Friday, it's almost like Thursday.  So confusing.  Let's petition the US government to start observing the July 4th holiday on the first Friday of every July.  Sound good?

Color rut

I think I'm in another color rut!  Last week it was peaches and pinks, this week so far it's been white and blue.  And today I decided to add red accents even though the 4th of July is still a couple of days away.  I'm just channeling some patriotism early I guess!  I have a completely different and fun outfit planned for the 4th though, but I had to get some use out of this dress at some point, right?

I bought this at a tiny consignment shop near my house.  It's not my favorite place to shop, I feel she overcharges just a bit, but I wanted to see what she had for maternity.  There was one tiny little rack and I found this Motherhood brand dress.  It wasn't too expensive, so I decided it could live in my closet!  I think it'll be good for next summer too when I'm nursing, the buttons at the top do come undone.  And it's adjustable for weight going up and down.  Pretty good dress all around I'd say!

Speaking of feeling in a rut - this week is the longest, slowest, most pointless week of work for the entire summer.  Half of our staff is on vacation the entire week.  It is so hard when the holiday falls right smack in the middle of the week. Because of vacation time I have coming later this month and next month and then wanting to save time for when the baby comes, I am not taking any time this week.  So it's just going to be a very long week overall.  I am even coming in on Friday too.  Dedication right?

Greetings everyone!  Happy Monday!  Hope you all had good weekends.  Mine was pretty decent, a little busy but also some relaxy time which was great!  I never did get my Influenster Vlog posted, but I promise it's coming (cause I know you're all on pins and needles to listen to my babbles again...ha).  Anyway, it's Inspiration Monday and today we have Jamie Chung.

I went for the opposite of Jamie's look - instead of denim on top and white on the bottom, I did white on top and denim on the bottom!  Nothing wrong with a little flip flop!

Boy this white shirt sure does make my nice pale white skin glow all the more though don't it?  I am your typical Scandinavian Minnesota girl - I don't tan, I burn.  So, I just opt to not tan.  Most of the time it doesn't bother me, but today I am just super translucent I guess!

I did a little bit of shopping with my mom yesterday.  Clothes Mentor was having their annual summer sale so I grabbed a few more maternity pieces for summer.  Mostly I've been worried about not having enough comfortable summer clothes to take on our trip to Northern Minnesota in a couple of weeks.  I am no longer concerned about that!  The deals were really great though, they were offering 55% off of all clearanced items, so you really can't beat that!  I do love though that I still have so many items of my regular clothing that still fit - like everything I'm wearing today.  Hooray for elastic!
